Meet our Founder and CEO

Dr. Abimbola Ogundere is an internationally recognized Global Education Leadership Expert, School Leadership Coach, best-selling author, and sought-after trainer and speaker specializing in education leadership, the business of education, and advancing quality education in Sub-Saharan Africa.

She is the visionary Founder and CEO of Kids' Court School, a prestigious nursery and primary school in Lagos, Nigeria, established in 2009 when she was just 27 years old. She also founded Court Hill College in 2021, a coeducational secondary school that has quickly risen to prominence. Under her leadership, these institutions have grown from humble beginnings of 10-12 students into internationally accredited schools serving over 500 students. Both schools are recognized by esteemed bodies such as Cognia, the Association of International Schools in Africa, the British Council, Cambridge International Assessments, and other reputable organizations.

In 2018, driven by her passion for improving access to quality education, Dr. Ogundere founded the Learning As I Teach (LAIT) Foundation, Africa, a nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating education standards for children across Africa. The foundation bridges access barriers for educators by offering professional development opportunities through cost-effective and innovative channels.

Through LAIT Africa, she launched the transformative Right Teacher Academy in 2020—a 10-week virtual program designed to address the inequities and inadequacies in Africa's education sector, particularly highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its inception, the academy has successfully trained over 3,000 educators across Africa, equipping them to become positive influencers in 21st-century education.

Recognizing the pivotal role of school leaders in shaping student outcomes, she introduced the Succeeding at Leading a Learning Community (SALLC) executive coaching program in 2020. This initiative has empowered over 200 school leaders across 15 Nigerian states, enabling them to lead their schools with effectiveness, impact, and sustainability.

As an accomplished author, Dr. Ogundere has written several bestselling education-focused books, including The Right Teacher, The ABC of Teacher Professionalism, Hiring Right, The Complete Guide to Succeeding at School Leadership, and Leadership for Wellbeing in Schools. These books have reached over 5,000 educators across Africa, providing valuable insights and practical guidance.

Dr. Ogundere's work has earned widespread recognition and accolades. In 2018, the LAIT Foundation won the Best Education Collaboration in Nigeria award from the Archlights Foundation. She was honored as one of Leading Ladies Africa's 100 Most Inspiring Women and one of Elvaridah's Five Outstanding Women in Business in 2021. In 2022, she was celebrated as The Educator by Entrepreneur East Africa and Mastercard. Most recently, in 2024, she was named one of the 50 Exceptional Women in Education by the STEM Teachers Rewards and Empowerment Foundation (STREF).

Dr. Ogundere's educational qualifications are as impressive as her career achievements. She is a North American Montessori-certified teacher, holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Roehampton University, London, and certifications in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and High Impact Leadership from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. She also holds a Master of Arts in Applied Educational Leadership from the Institute of Education, University of London.

In addition to her contributions to education, Dr. Ogundere is a medical doctor with a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of London.
